'On an Evening in Roma' was originally written in 1957 in Italian (specifically, Romanesco), as 'Sott'er celo de Roma'. Dean Martin recorded it in 1959, with English lyrics written by Nan Fredrics. It has also been recorded by Umberto Marcato, Deana Martin, and Michael Bublé, among others.
