Honda Racing has unveiled the Civic Type R-GT, a racing version of the beloved Civic Type R. This powerful car will compete in Japan's prestigious Super GT Series top GT500 class, starting in the 2024 season.
Testing for the race-prepped CTR-GT will commence at the Okayama International Circuit in Japan on July 25-26. Although specific details about the car are yet to be released, it is expected to boast an impressive output of around 550 to 650 horsepower from its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
The Type R-GT exhibits striking visual differences compared to its standard counterpart, showcasing aggressive aero features that emphasize its intent to win. Honda Racing Corporation's President, Yasuharu Watanabe, has expressed their strong desire for victory, aiming to win the championship in the very first year of competition.
