Autosave| AutoRecover options in excel (customize how you want your workbook to be saved)
want to Autosave and AutoRecover your data in excel? You’re so lucky because in this video I’ll show you how you can autosave and autorecover your data in excel the way you want it to be saved with a step by step explanation. But before that make sure you don’t post any data in your excel sheet before watching this video on how to autosave and autorecover in excel to avoid losing your data.
Steps
Go to excel ribbon, click on File tab, scroll down and click on options.
A new window of Excel option will popup, on the left hand side we have some categories here, just click on save category.
After clicking on save category go to save workbook option and here is where we customize how we want our worksheet or workbook to be AutoSaved and here is where also we choose can choose where we want to autorecover file to be saved.
On autosave option, note by default its set at 10 minutes in order to auto save so we have full control to change this time like for example I can choose 1 minute and autosave will set to 1 minute.
On autorecover option, note here by default its set to save the file in this location (C:\Users\hp\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\). So here we can change location where our file will be recovered in case on unforeseen event like for example excel crashes so many times. So in case of such an event we want to access our auto recovered file location with ease. So make sure you choose the location you will remember.
Last step is to click on okay and your autosave and autorecover options will be active.
So in case you close your excel sheet without saving your work by mistake or your excel sheet crashes then you will be able to auto recover the last version of your excel sheet based on how you customized the autosave option, for example if you set it to autosave after every 2 minutes then you will be on the safer side instead of using the default setting of 10 minutes and that way you will just lose a small portion of data that you posted of which you can post again.
