Capitalize initial Letters in Excel | capitalize first word (2 Methods)
When you capitalize Initial letters in excel this will definitely make your work more presentable. But the question is, how do we capitalize the first word in excel cells when there is a mix of small and capital letters?
In this video, I will show you 2 methods to do it without doing it manually.
1. Use the Flash fill tool to capitalize your initial letters in excel
Under this method, you just type the pattern that you want your Words to look like on your first cell so you type the first or initial letters of the word as capital letters. And flash fill will show you suggestions of your pattern; if you are comfortable with it, just press enter on your keyboard.
Flash Fill makes your work easier when capitalizing your initial letters in excel because you don’t have to do it manually.
The only downside is that when you add extra words to your original words flash fill will not update it. And this brings us to
2. Using Proper function to capitalize your initial letters in excel
capitalize the initial letter just click on = sign on you, type proper then double click on the formula, then click on the text you want to initial capitalize letter and click enter
Then to capitalize the other cells you just drag your mouse from that first cell then all the other cells are initial capitalized.
To copy just the values without formulas you just copy and paste using values only.
The merit of using the proper function is that whenever you update your original data your proper function data gets updated automatically.
