A little program I wrote to simulate a 1D wave function (only reals). [https://www.khanacademy.org/computer-...]
Not sure why the wave function seems to sink downward. The wave function here restricts the probability of observing a given particle upon collapse to stay constant (i.e., the integral over the square modulus of the wave function must stay constant), meaning that the wave function can not just flatten out close to 0. It must have some variations away from 0 to avoid the particle suddenly ceasing to exist, which is why I think there is this downward sinking of the wave function when the waves settle and the higher frequency waves attenuate quicker than the lower frequency waves. Still, the way it sinks seems extremely odd to me.
