Biometric boom or Privacy pandemonium?
To separate real people and AI bots online, OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman has launched his AI & crypto project Worldcoin.
The project provides users with World ID, a digital identity by collecting digital iris scans for biometric verification using its "orb" at checkpoints around the world.
Over 2 million people globally have verified their identities via the iris-scanning orb and are receiving WDC tokens for their contributions
The identity is then stored on a private blockchain where it cannot be controlled nor shut down by a single entity.
But in this digital age of generative AI, will blockchain be the only solution to achieve balance between ai and humanity?
