Multichain Hacked for $120 million, CEO still AWOL
Multichain takes centre stage this week as its cross chain bridge hacked of an estimated $120 Million over the weekend.
Following the breach, Multichain confirmed that their bridges on Fantom, Moonriver Network & Dogechain were affected. The wallets containing the stolen funds had since been blacklisted.
The exploit however, has left the FTM ecosystem in shambles as the ecosystem had crashed by 31% due to liquidations from the hack.
Fantom Foundation CEO Michael Kong had denounced responsibility of the hack stating that the Multichain teams and the Fantom Foundation team are separate entities.
However, he responded that he is 'looking at it' given its unusual nature of the attacker not moving the funds after stealing the funds from the router.
