When I started at Cleanaway this was the first garbage truck I took on a run in Baulkham Hills. Loved the pump whine you got with the packer cycling, there was something extra intense about it compared to other trucks of its kind, which is probably what prompted me to capture this in-cab view. Imagine this 07 ACCO tearing through the neighbourhood, 535 definitely had character! I set the camera up while servicing a new estate that had close together bin lifts and also some longer travels, allowing use of the exhaust brake for listening pleasure. At the very end I included a nice drive back to the top of the estate with some gear changes – normally I would switch off the pendulum for such distance, but I left it on for the sake of entertainment. This truck had the slow in/out of the hopper setting on too, but you could boost the speed by holding the joystick in the right corner with the slide already home, ideally returning to the middle position at the right point so it still cushions and doesn’t slam.
