Serbia's newest main battle tank the M-84 AS1 presented to Serbian army
M-84 is a main battle tank developed by Yugoslavia, based on the soviet T-72. The M-84 is still in service in Serbia, Kuwait, Croatia, Slovenia and other countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina use a minimal number.
Modification AS1 is the latest variant currently in prototype stage. This variation features additional armor, including explosive reactive armor, integrated day-night sighting system with thermal imager, command information system, a soft-kill active protection system, new radio system, Remote-controlled Weapons Station with 12.7mm machine gun, and CBRN protection equipment. Serbian army is confident that the M-84 AS1 is able to match various tanks operated by other European armies.
