ESCAPE to Portugal [S1-E6]
I had to cut my time in beautiful Spain short as the heat was too much for me and Big Yellow, my Mercedes Sprinter Campervan, not helped by the fact my air conditioning doesn't work (it stopped working at Dover as I left the UK).
At first it seemed I was going to have some difficulty finding park ups in Portugal, but I soon figured out why some people were having problems. There's a large protected area of Europe called the Natura2000 and it's strictly policed to prevent people from staying overnight. Once I knew this it was easy to avoid by checking the map on the website here: https://natura2000.eea.europa.eu/
I wonder if Portugal might be the number one place in Europe to ride off road on the dirt on my Honda CRF300 Rally. As usual, I managed to make it look difficult.
