Make a Mini Pump out of the barrel of an old pen. Tie thread on a cycle spoke con rod to make a piston. A steel ball bearing placed in the hole of the barrel will make a good the suction valve. Place the pump vertically in water and move the cycle spoke up and down. After the pump primes water will gush out from the outlet.
