Make your own Wedding Invitation Suite for CHEAP! | Wedding DIY
I took another invitation and used procreate to trace and create my own png file. I do not recommend doing this as there are so many options online to order editable designs or png straight from Etsy. If you want to make your own floral design there are so many tutorials on how to do this on Youtube. I created my png and airdropped it to my computer. From there I used adobe illustrator to create the design. But I recommend using Canva and even investing in the pro version so you have more options for fonts and elements. Etsy has so many customizable designs for you to use to create a unique wedding invitation. But Canva also has a ton of different floral elements especially if you are using Canva Pro.
My trick for making affordable invitations is by getting them printed as post card on your favorite print site. I got mine printed on Vista Print. But instead of using their wedding invitation section. I used the business post cards in various sizes for my invitation, rsvp and details card. This made it half the price if I had used the wedding invitation section of the website.
With that said, you will have limitations for types of papers, textures, foil stamping, etc. but for me it wasn’t worth spending significantly more for something people would throw away.
Once my invitation arrived, I wanted to make it look more upscale with some gold leaf design. I used a glue stick and added small strips of gold leaf to the invitation. After they dried, I used a stiff paint brush and scratched away at the loose foil. This added a nice touch to my final invitation design.
I bought my envelopes from amazon and put a white gel pen into my cricut to write the name and addresses onto my envelopes. I have a full video in the info card showing you how I did this for my sisters wedding in full detail. I used an a custom address stamp to add the return address on the back.
I used a wax seal hot glue gun and wax seal sticks to add the wax seal to the envelopes. I pre-made the wax seals which allowed for me to discard any not so perfect seals. I used hot glue to attach to the envelopes before mailing them out. I have a full video that goes into more detail on how I made my wax seals for my wedding.
