Spring Floral Home Decor using Mostly Dollar Tree Florals | Home DIY
Floral Wreath
I started off with some florals from the dollar tree and some greenery I had laying around from another project. Then I got this beaded wreath from Hobby Lobby which was on sale for 40% off. Using wire cutters, I cut my greenery to frame the edge of the wreath, then I started arranging my flowers. At first I attached them together with floral tape but decided I wanted to just hot glue everything right to the wreath for better placement. I first hot glued my greenery to the sides before adding my flowers to the middle. I used some floral wire to secure the greenery to wreath. Once the glue is dried and everything looks good you are all done. I love how this turned out. This was a simple project that could be something you do with some girlfriends for a nice useful craft.
Spring Letter
I got my letter from Hobby Lobby and all the florals and floral foam from the Dollar Tree. I started by cutting the top of my letter off, this doesn’t have to be perfect as it will be covered with flowers in the end. Then I removed the insides of the letter and we are left with the outer shape. At this point you can paint the outside if the brown is not the look you are going for. Off camera I cut my floral foam with a knife in half to make it thinner and then into pieces that would fit in the letter. Hot glue melts the foam so I needed a snug fit so I used green tissue paper crumpled up to help make everything snug. From there I popped off the heads of the flowers to prepare to put them on the letter. I started by randomly placing the flowers making sure there was a good balance of white and pink. I stuck the flowers into the foam without glue but where there was no foam and there was only the tissue paper, I added hot glue to help with holding flowers in place. Lastly, I look at my flower for any holes and added individual pedals to help fill any gaps. I love how this DIY turned out, it is such a pretty way to add a customized design to your home for the spring season. And would even make a great gift for a friend or neighbor.
