Build it, draw it, write it, say it is my favourite approach for teaching maths because it makes it simple to unpick structures and really understand what maths is actually happening. This is my third video in the series and it focuses on how you can use this approach to ensure children understand division with remainders. This concept can be tricky for children and before they are expected to use remainders for regrouping in short division and interpreting remainders in their answer, they really need to know what remainders are and what they look like. In this video, I take you through the phases of this approach using a variety of manipulatives to support conceptual understanding. I hope you find it useful 😀
