A favicon, also called a Site Icon, appears in browser tabs, bookmarks, and mobile shortcuts. Updating it helps improve branding and recognition.

Follow these simple steps:

Method: Change Favicon from WordPress Settings
Log in to your WordPress dashboard
Go to Settings
Click General
Find the Site Icon option
Click Change Site Icon
Upload your new favicon image
Click Save Changes

Recommended Favicon Size
• 512 × 512 pixels
• PNG format is recommended
• Use a square image

If You Do Not See Site Icon Under General

Some WordPress versions show it here instead:
Go to Appearance
Customize
Click Site Identity
Update the Site Icon
Click Publish

If Favicon Does Not Update
• Clear your browser cache
• Clear website cache if using a caching plugin
• Check in incognito mode

That’s it. Your new favicon should now appear in browser tabs and search results.
