This video is about how to make buttermilk biscuits like my grandma used to make. Let's bake some fabulously famously fluffy buttermilk biscuits. Try saying that 3 times fast. Or even once slowly. Either way, this is my grandma's recipe and it's the first thing I remember learning how to bake. She would sit me down at the table and I'd have the job of rubbing the butter into the flour. There is something very soothing about making biscuits to this day as it reminds me of being a young and happy little girl safe in her grandma's house.
If you are Appalachian or from up north, it doesn’t matter. This is the recipe to learn in order to make tasty buttermilk biscuits. No more hockey pucks or tough biscuits for you. These biscuits will be “cathead biscuits” just begging to be ate. Delicious, soft full of buttery layers and tall as a skyscraper, these fluffy biscuits are sure to please.
Don’t use self-rising flour, you want plain flour or all purpose here. They will be lighter and airier by controlling the amount of baking powder and not bitter like many of the self-rising biscuits can be.
