After picking up hitchhikers, Robert Ben Rhoades murders them, He is a psychopath who enjoys in torturing his victims. A couple of young women and some young couple is the casualties of the truck stop killers reign of terror. He turn his truck into a chamber of death, where he committed most of his crimes. He was caught by a trooper while in a stop, the trooper asked him if he needs help, but was shock of what's happening inside his truck. a woman gagged in the mouth and was terrified. He tried to persuade police that it was a mutual and consensual matter, but that police didn't buy it. He then was arrested and charged with only sexual assault at that time. But the later investigation lead them to a more heinous discovery of series of murders he committed. Robert Ben Rhoades is responsible of almost 50 murders but only charge by a few as there's no solid evidence for the other crimes. A young lady which later identified by the police is one of the survivor that got away. she later shared everything she experienced with the Truck stop killer.
