In this episode, I explain how to improve the performance of your programs and libraries by using macros. Macros are a smart pre-compile time code replacement tool. They allow you to write code without procedures that is still legible.
Why not calling procedures? If you program is CPU-intensive and you want to save some CPU cycles, you want to avoid procedure calls.
But if you still want your code to be legible and maintainable, you should use macros.
