PureBasic Editor - Navigation & Selection - PureBasic 101
Learn the fundamentals of PureBasic. In this PureBasic 101 series, I cover the language, the IDE, the tools and some programming tips and techniques.
In this episode, I demonstrate how to navigate in the code and between files. I also show how to select text.
The keys or shortcuts used
STANDARD NAVIGATION
Cursor Moves
left arrow (←) : moves the cursor one character to the left.
right arrow (→) : moves the cursor one character to the right.
up arrow (↑) : moves the cursor to the line above.
down arrow (↓) : moves the cursor to the line below.
page up (⇞) : moves the cursor one page up.
page down (⇟) : moves the cursor one page down.
home (⇱) : moves the cursor to the beginning of the line.
end (⇲) : moves the cursor to the end of the line.
CTRL+← : moves the cursor before the previous word.
CTRL+→ : moves the cursor after the next word.
CTRL+⇱ : moves the cursor to the beginning of the file.
CTRL+⇲ : moves the cursor to the end of the file.
Scrolling
CTRL+↑ : scrolls the file one line up.
CTRL+↓ : scrolls the file one line down.
SPECIAL NAVIGATION
CTRL+G : moves the cursor to the line number entered in the window.
CTRL+K : moves the cursor to the next matching keyword
CTRL+L : moves the cursor to its previous (navigated) position
CTRL+Double-Click on procedure call : moves to the procedure definition.
Double-Click on IncludeFile, XIncludeFile or IncludeBinary : opens the file.
CTRL+F2 : toggles a marker on the current line
F2 : moves the cursor to the next marker
Edit ➔ Clear Markers : removes all markers in the current file.
STANDARD SELECTION
Mouse click and drag : selects text.
SHIFT+[any cursor move] : adds text to the selection
CTRL+A : selects the whole content of the current file/
Double-Click to select a word (except IncludeFile, IncludeBinary)
SPECIAL SELECTION
CTRL+M : expands the selection outwards (to the including block)
CTRL+SHIFT+M : shrinks the selection inwards (to the included block)
