Processing commissions is a straightforward process, but before you do so you'll want to do some housekeeping. Verify distributor placement is correct, assign any vested ranks, confirm orders are correctly posted and paid, apply commission adjustments and delete inactive distributors. Go to Users, User Management to display your distributor list. When you hover over a distributor's name a shortcut balloon is displayed, listing various functions.
The first feature of interest is Delete Distributor. Distributors that are inactive for a period of time or fail to meet certain requirements may be marked as deleted. A deleted distributor will retain their position in the genealogy for tax reporting purposes, but are marked to show they are deleted. Deleted distributors may not access their back office, do not participate in the commission process to earn commissions, and MultiSoft does not bill you the monthly hosting fee for these centers. Click Delete This Account, enter a reason for the deletion and click Delete Distributor. If the distributor has orders in the system you will be prompted to confirm your action. The distributor will now show as deleted and may be restored to their existing position by clicking Restore if you need to. Again, enter a reason for the restore and click OK. The distributor now shows as an active account again.
The next pertinent item is Enrolling Sponsor. A distributor is placed in the down line during the enrollment, however you may move a distributor to a different sponsor if you need to. For example, you may wish to move all your deleted distributors to a deleted distributors leg so they are not occupying places in the organization. Remember, when you move a distributor their down line will move with them and you may wish to move those distributors to a different location.
Select Enrolling Sponsor to view the existing sponsor information for this distributor. Your system will only show the plan types unilevel, binary, matrix, that are pertinent to you. Click Show Change Placement and Enrolling Sponsor to activate editing and enter the new ID in the appropriate fields. Sponsor is the individual that enrolled this distributor. Placement is a genealogically placed sponsor. In most cases with an unlimited width plan both will be the same, but with a fixed width plan like a binary distributors are automatically placed or spilled to the first available position in the down line, and the placement ID will automatically adjust during the enrollment or when you enter new placement ID here. Enter the new ID number and the system will check for a valid link. You may not enter cyclical links where the up line would cause a loop in the genealogy. After the system has checked that it is a valid ID the new sponsor's name is displayed. Perform this adjustment for all of your plan types as needed. Then enter a reason for the change and click Save to confirm the update. Remember, you may now need to move down line members of that distributor that you have just moved.
The next feature of interest when discussing commission processing is the ability to manually define a distributor's rank. This is called vesting. When you vest a distributor they will always be paid at the set rank regardless of qualification requirements unless they have successfully achieved a higher rank. They will never fall below the rank you have vested them at though, until you reset this feature. Select Edit, Status, Rank to open the vesting page. Again, information here will be set for your system only. From the drop down list of the relevant plan type, select the rank you want to vest this distributor at. If the rank for your compensation plan is not displayed, please contact your sales representative or customer service for advice. Enable vesting for this plan type by setting the checkbox, and choose the date you with this vesting to take effect. Your compensation plan pays commissions in predefined periods, so if you are processing or even reprocessing commissions for a previous month you may set the date to one that is in the past, then recalculate commissions to see the corrected results. Enter a reason for this adjustment and click Update to apply the rule to this distributor.
