Welcome to the New Calculus Channel!

In this eighth video, we will be deriving arithmetic mean, area, and similar triangles.

What is an arithmetic mean? Given any set of numbers or magnitudes, the value that each number would have, if all the numbers in the set were made to be equal through a process of distribution.

What is area? Area is defined as the product of two arithmetic means or more correctly "level magnitudes".

What are similar triangles? Triangles are similar if corresponding angles are equal or the ratio of corresponding sides is the same.

Update: The level magnitude (aka arithmetic mean) is the second most important concept in mathematics. Calculus and mathematical statistics would not work without it.
