It's deceptive writing |(f(x+h)-h)/h-L| is less than ε because it is the same as writing |(f(x+h)-f(x))/h - f '(x)| is less than ε.
It's like saying that if there is a tangent line slope at x, then the difference between the tangent line slope and the approximating non-parallel secant line is less than epsilon. Ironically, there NEED NOT EVEN be a TANGENT (*) at x for this to be TRUE!!!!!!! A two-year-old could tell you this! There is NOTHING about this that rigorizes the bullshit mainstream calculus in any way whatsoever! Your mainstream textbooks are ALL 100% SHIT - just like your brains! (*) Mainstream math imbeciles are careful to include that f'(x)=L, but if there is a hole at x, then the epsilon-delta definition without this stipulation f'(x)=L, covers the tangent line slope there even if there is NO TANGENT line! I call this the HOLEY feature of mainstream calculus because of the many holes in mainstream calculus.
