Quick Clip: Was Spectrum the Perfect Kids Computer, Why Did it Not Sell in US?
Just a quick clip where I share my new fondness for the ZX Spectrum. My first computer in the early 80's in the US was a mail-order purchase of my ZX81 from Sinclair Research' in NH. The Spectrum would have been the perfect upgrade. I could have continued to use my ZX Printer. I'm curious why Sinclair never sold it in the US. Did Timex prevent them? It would have sold at half the price of a Commodore 64, easily competing with it and other computers in the US, and made Sinclair profitable, maybe preventing it from going under. As a kid I would have loved this computer.
