Demo describing how SEO Manager handles alternate language URLs on EPiServer pages that have more than one page translation.
Welcome to this video about SEO Manager for EPiServer.
I'm going to show you how SEO Manager handles alternate language URLs.
EpiServer has very good multilingual support. But to give the search engines information about the alternate language for pages we need an alternate language tag in the HTML to describe it. Let's take a look at how it works.
On my demo site the start page exists in both English and Swedish version.
You can see that the page responds with the HTTP status 200.
If we go to edit mode and look on the URL view for the start page you can see that the start page has two master pages - one for each language version.
Now -- let's go back to the website start page and look at the HTML code.
As you can see, when we look at the HTML for the English version we have an alternate language tag that describes how this page also exists in Swedish.
We will now change to the Swedish version and look at the HTML. And as you can see, when looking at the HTML for the Swedish version, there is an alternate language tag that describes that this page also exists in English.
