Losing weight can feel incredibly daunting, especially with all the conflicting advice out there. In this video, I’ll share my top three essential physical activities to help you kickstart your weight loss journey. But remember, while working out is crucial, it's equally important to pair it with a healthy diet—after all, "abs are made in the gym, but shown in the kitchen."

1. Running
Running is what most people think of in regards to fat loss. While studies show it isn’t the most effective strategy for losing weight, it is still a great way to increase the overall number of calories burned. This will help you achieve a caloric deficit and also has many other health benefits such as decreasing your risk of cardiovascular disease, Diabetes, many types of cancer, depression, anxiety, and high blood pressure.

2. Resistance Training
Resistance training is going to be the second-best strategy to losing fat! Resistance training burns numerous calories, especially when you perform dynamic exercises (exercises that work multiple muscle groups at once). Along with burning calories, resistance training also increases your resting metabolic rate, which refers to the baseline number of calories you will be burning at rest. This is a game-changer and will greatly improve your results!

3. Low-Intensity Long Duration Training (LILD)
This refers to performing cardio training at a low intensity (50-60% of heart rate max) for prolonged periods of time. Studies have shown that LILD training has a higher ratio of fat utilization for energy production rather than carbs, leading to a higher rate of fat loss. Great examples of LILD include treadmill training on an incline or using the stair master and aim for upwards of one-hour sessions.
