In this Remote Lab we'll take a look at the science behind Magnets and Electricity and how they are connected. You'll learn how to generate electricity with magnetism and magnetism with electricity and how they can use either to generate motion and can then use that knowledge to build your own ELECTROMAGNETS and SIMPLE MOTORS!
GATHER UP THESE SUPPLIES BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
Thin enameled copper wire (thin insulated wire will work as well)
Nail, screw or bolt (steel)
Battery (AAA, AA, C and D work best)
Several metal paperclips
Assorted magnets (even most refrigerator magnets will work)
Piece of Styrofoam packaging or several sheets of thick cardboard
Small piece of sandpaper or nail file
IF YOU HAVE ORDERED OUR DIY SCI KIT YOU CAN USE THIS STUFF AS WELL:
Iron filings
Petri dish
Copper wire
Neodymium magnets (small silver disks)
