One Health Bangladesh, a multidisciplinary platform dealing with health threats at the human-animal - environmental interface, has been organizing a series of webinars in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The set of webinars is being organized in partnership with Global Health Development (GHD).

The COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to spread across the world and claim life. South Asian countries, including Bangladesh, are facing tremendous challenges to tackle health threats. In many ways, the COVID-19 pandemic has proven to be a moving target. One Health approach recognizes the interconnectedness and interdependencies of human-animal in a complex ecosystem. It promotes the multidisciplinary and multisectoral coordination at the local, national, regional, and global level to tackle pandemics like COVID-19.

Join us on Friday the 3rd of July at 9 am Bangladesh time for the 10th weekly interactive webinar on “One Health Capacity Building to Tackle Pandemics". The webinar will focus on capacity building for combating pandemics through multidisciplinary One Health Approach.

Introducing Key Speakers

Dr. Joanna McKenzie, Senior Lecturer in One Health Epidemiology and International Development, mEpiLab, School of Veterinary Sciences, Massey University, New Zealand; she was involved in implementing One Health Fellowship program in South Asia

Robert Salerno, Director, Global Health Security, DAI Global Health; leads the development, design, and execution of new programs that address a wide range of issues at the animal-human-environmental intersection. A global health expert, he most recently served as the Technical Integration Manager on the Preparedness and Response (P&R) project.

Dr. M Salim Uzzaman, Principal Scientific Officer, Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), Directorate General of Health Services and General Secretary, One Health Bangladesh. He is involved with the implementation of the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) in Bangladesh with the support of CDC USA.

The webinar will be moderated by Prof Nitish Debnath, National Coordinator, One Health Bangladesh.
