“Ryusendo Limestone Cave” in Iwate prefecture is the world’s leading underground lake called Dragon Blue. It is counted as one of Japan’s three major cave. It has been drawing attention recently as “Lovers’ holy land”.
“Ryusendo Limestone Cave” is located in Iwaizumi-cho, about 2 hours by car from Morioka city in the northeastern part of Iwate Prefecture. The length of the inside of the cave is 3600 meters just now known. However, in estimation it is a huge cave that is said to be more than 5000 meters in all.
“Ryusendo” is a limestone cave prepared for sightseeing in the 1960s. Such “Ryusendo” was also renovated in 2010 and it became easier to sightsee by adopting LED lighting inside the cave.
