This talk discusses how implementing tiered prevention in early childhood settings can help support the social and academic development of young children. High-quality care and education in early childhood settings are based on the public health prevention model, which is conceptualized as a three-tier framework that provides a continuum of support, including universal, secondary, and tertiary levels. This tiered prevention approach promotes the social-emotional development, school readiness skills, and academic performance of young children.
