2023 Presidential Elections: Peter Obi Officially Petitions Elections Tribunal | KOTM LIVE (Mar 21)
The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi has formally submitted a petition challenging the process leading to the outcome of the Presidential Election held on February 28, 2023, where the Independent National Electoral Commission had announced Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the election and declared him President-Elect.
Chief Spokesman of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign of the Labour Party, Dr. Yunusa Tanko announced the development in a statement he released in the early hours of Tuesday.
The Labour Party and its presidential candidate had rejected the results of the Feb 25th Presidential elections, faulting the processes that led to the declaration of results.
The Lawyers of the Party and the presidential candidate had approached the court seeking permission to inspect the election materials used to build up its case before heading to the tribunals.
