Amaechi Apologizes To Ndigbo, Says APC Will Compensate Civil War Victims In Rivers|KOTM LIVE (MAR 9)
he leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Rivers State and the Former minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has apologized to the people of Igbo ethnic nationality over the loss of properties in the region after the 1967-1970 civil war. He promised that whatever they lost will be given back to them in due course.
Amaechi revealed this while speaking during a stakeholder's meeting between the Igbo Community in Rivers State and Governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress in Rivers State, Tonye Cole.
Amaechi who spoke on the issue of abandoned properties during the civil war, stated that he had apologized to Ndigbo during his time as governor, and is still apologizing to the Igbo, who returned after the war, and their properties were seized in rivers State and termed “abandoned property”.
He promised that should his party win the governorship of the state, all those who lost anything in the state during the civil war, through violence, whether house or properties, should write and it will be returned to them.
