The governors elected under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has written a memo to the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu informing him of the politics being played out to elect the leaders of the 10th National Assembly.
the governors under the aegis of Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), reportedly said they were aware of ‘rumours’ that two lawmakers, one aspiring for Senate President and another for Speaker of the House of Representatives, have expressed willingness to offer between $500,000 and $1 million per lawmaker in exchange for votes.
The governors who did not name the two candidates allegedly involved in the bribery scheme suggested that the two candidates are members of the APC, noting that aspirants are offering newly elected lawmakers thousands of dollars for support, and some are willing to take the offer to a million dollars per vote.
The governors in the memo recommended a zoning formula for the choice of the presiding and principal officers of the 10th session of the National Assembly for the consideration of the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.
