This video is on “Condensers –Types, Applications, Selection and Design Considerations “. The target audience for this course is chemical and process engineers and chemical engineering students.

Condenser is a type of heat exchanger widely used in chemical process industries. Typical applications include separation processes such as distillation, process heaters such as feed vaporizers for reactor system etc. The knowledge and understanding of the various types of condensers is the first the step in the selection and design of condensers for a given application. For operation engineers it is equally important to understand why a particular type of HEX is selected for given application, their construction features so that it enables them to troubleshoot during operation and also plan for inspection and maintenance. This video focuses on the types of condensers, analysis of individual type of condensers, their applications, selection criteria and design considerations.
