This video is on “Fluid Transport in Pipes: Piping System Design Considerations Part 1 –Line Sizing “. The target audience for this course is chemical and process engineers and chemical engineering students.
Piping is an important element of the fluid transport processes in chemical process industries. Fluids are transported from one point of location of the process activity to another location through piping system. A typical piping system consists of various pipe fittings such as tees, elbows, valves, expanders, reducers gaskets drains, vent etc. Design of piping system such as this should take into consideration several factors whether it is located with in the plant premises or outside such as the cross-country pipelines. It is responsibility of the process engineer the select the right material and size the pipeline.
This video focuses on the factors to be considered in piping system design and how to size a pipe for fluid flow.
