Inside 1000 Sq. Ft. Luxurious Cottage Overlooking the Arabian Sea | Home Tour |
This 1,000 sq.ft holiday home designed by Bhoomija Creations can make the Arabian Sea feel like part of the living room.
Set along Pappali Beach in Thrissur, La Casa De Papel is a compact coastal retreat designed to maximize uninterrupted sea views while creating a peaceful escape from everyday life. Built on a modest 3,700 sq.ft plot, the architecture carefully balances openness, privacy, and the site's extraordinary beachfront setting.
The arrival experience is deliberately choreographed. A wedge-shaped entrance path offers only glimpses of the Arabian Sea before opening dramatically into the main living space. Large sliding glass doors dissolve the boundary between indoors and outdoors, while a deck extending over a lotus pond creates a tranquil space for relaxation and entertaining.
Inside, the layout is carefully planned to preserve the visual connection with the coastline. The kitchen and flexible seating area remain tucked away from the primary view, allowing the living space to remain visually uninterrupted. This adaptable corner functions equally well as a reading nook, additional seating, or a guest sleeping space when needed.
A sculptural spiral staircase leads to the upper floor, where the bedroom opens onto a private balcony overlooking the sea. The attached bathroom features contemporary fittings and a jacuzzi projecting above the entrance below, creating a unique architectural experience. Throughout the home, natural materials, low rooflines, and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions reinforce the calm atmosphere of this intimate seaside retreat.
