The presentation of a paper on the development of the Events Sector Maturity Model (ESMM). This shows the origin of the idea and how the model was refined over twenty years of active research in the field.
The model outlines the way the events sector has changed - moved through phases - around the world. The pace of development is different in each city and country, but the maturity pathway is the same. Having worked in over 40 counties in events and events development, my model is informed and refined by front line feedback.
The next step is to use the five phase model to define various aspects of events such as risk, marketing, crowds, scheduling, stakeholder management and other processes over time.
This then becomes a diagnostic tool for cities and countries to measure their place in the ESMM and to forecast then optimize the next steps. All this is to be found in the textbook/manual :Events Feasibility and Development 2ed.
