DEWALT DWS780 12-Inch Sliding Miter Saw Review: Is It Worth the Hype?
If you're tackling a home renovation, a high-quality miter saw is a game-changer. In this video, I’m putting my DEWALT DWS780 12-Inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw to the test.
I’ll show you the key features, how the sliding mechanism works, and perform some test cuts to show you the accuracy right out of the box.

ABOUT THE SAW: The DEWALT DWS780 is a 12-inch double bevel sliding compound miter saw. It’s designed for everything from small trim work to cutting large 2x12 lumber. One of my favorite features is the sliding rail, which allows you to cut much wider boards than a traditional "chop" saw.
PRO-TIP FROM THE VIDEO: The blade that comes with the saw (the "stock" blade) is okay for rough framing, but if you're doing fine finish work or cabinetry, I highly recommend upgrading to a high-tooth-count blade for smoother cuts (03:52).
DEWALT MITER SAW STAND: I also show the saw mounted on the DEWALT mobile stand. Having the saw at the right height and having those extendable supports (02:10) makes working with long 8ft or 10ft boards much safer and easier.
