DIY Aquaponics Greenhouse & How I Learned DIY
Before I ever started renovating homes, this DIY Aquaponics garden is where it all began. I didn’t know much about plumbing, chemistry, or heating systems at the time, but building this from scratch taught me the skills I use today for all my major home projects.

ABOUT THE SYSTEM: Aquaponics combines fish farming and hydroponics into a closed-loop system. The tilapia produce waste that becomes nutrients for the plants, and the plants clean the water for the fish. I was able to grow everything from tomatoes and onions to potatoes (02:44) all year long in my backyard!
THE LEARNING CURVE: I learned more about plumbing and problem-solving from this greenhouse than from any book. I even had to dust off my high school chemistry to manage the water pH (01:21). If you're afraid to start a project because you don't know "how" to do it, let this video be your sign to just start small.
