In goBILDA assemblies, E-clip axles are used primarily for securing components on a shaft, ensuring that parts such as gears or wheels remain in place during operation. For example:

End Stops: E-clips serve as built-in end stops on shafts, preventing components from sliding off (like gears, bears, or other hub mounted parts).
Tensioning Systems: In systems that require tension, such as sprocket assemblies, E-clips can be used to secure shafts that are part of tensioners.
Modular Assembly: E-clips allow for easy assembly and disassembly of components, making it simpler to modify or repair the assembly without needing to replace entire shafts or components.
