On the night of August 2nd, Wizardmon found a Digivice. How did it get there, and who did it belong to...?
When DemiDevimon found Wizardmon and wanted to see what he found, Wizardmon pretended it was nothing and focus more on how much he was enjoying the human world, pretending that he was drunk.
Wizardmon just couldn't let DemiDevimon, and then Myotismon, have the Digivice that he found. What he wanted to do now is look for the Eighth Chosen Child that the Digivice belonged to...

At Tai's residence, he called Joe to check on his progress of looking for the Eighth Child. Sadly, no such luck. Their whole team were the only kids that moved out from Hikarigaoka.
However, the only place left to look into... was Taichi's own...
After calling Joe, Tai got a call from Matt. There was urgent news that a lot of women were getting kidnapped in Shibuya. Matt knew about this because he was just there, along with T.K. and their Digimon getting attacked by Myotismon!
The DigiDestined HAD to look for the Eighth Child at all cost!

Wizardmon found Gatomon, who for some reason was watching at Kari. He showed her the Digivice he found, but he hadn't found the Eighth Child, yet...
Yet...
Wizardmon had a feeling that Gatomon would know their location through a feeling in her own heart. Her memories...
Wizardmon also had a rough past. He was stranded and alone until Gatomon saved his life. He mentioned to Gatomon that she always used to say "I've always been waiting for someone..."
And right here, right now, Wizardmon was ready to help Gatomon discover who that "someone" really is...

Kari was still looking for her missing cat Miko. That is until Wizardmon and Gatomon approached her.
Wizardmon then did the inevitable. He handed his found Digivice to Kari! AND IT SHINED!
Just as Wizardmon thought. The Eighth Child of the Chosen Children... was none other than Hikari, herself!
And as for her Digimon partner...?
It turned out to be Gatomon, herself!
Gatomon was waiting for someone for a very long time, only to end up encountering Myotimon, instead. The days upon days of abuse against her made her even forget about who she was even waiting for...
But thanks to Wizardmon's help, Gatomon was able to figure it out at long last...

Tai then saw Wizardmon & Gatomon with his little sister. Seemingly knowing them as threats, he had Agumon attack them.
Kari stood in their way to shield them from the attack... but then...
Gatomon stood in HER way to finally take the attack, herself!
So then Gatomon finally put it together: Tailmon is the Digimon to the 8th Chosen Child: Hikari Yagami!
Even then, Tai couldn't entirely trust Wizardmon around them. At the least, with the Digivice in Kari's hands, they should be able to defend against Myotismon.
Right now, all that was left was for Kari to gain her Crest. The real one that Myotismon has with him. Wizardmon & Gatomon will attempt to go retrieve it for Kari.

A Bakemon was guarding a place containing Kari's Crest for Myotismon, but Wizardmon put a spell on him to make him leave. They were sure to pick up the Crest without Myotismon around for a while...
But then... he just suddenly appeared anyway! He knew what they were planning!

The resulting battle is completely automatic. You can't control Gatomon nor Wizardmon here.
You just to get to watch as the confidently fight Myotismon, only to both fail...

Wizardmon took more of the burn from Myotismon's attacks. Gatomon urged to Myotismon that she was his enemy to fight!
Myotismon further realized his disgust with Gatomon eyes, for they gleamed with a light of hopes and dreams. It's as if Gatomon was always meant to be a threat to him.
But for now, he decided to finish Wizardmon off by plummeting him to the sea.
Tai came just in time to rescue Gatomon, but even MetalGreymon's power was not enough to be a challenge to Myotismon.
It truly processed to Myotismon that Gatomon was indeed the 8th Digimon of the Chosen Children. His next plan was to exploit this to draw out the Eighth Child, herself. Even if Myotismon no longer had Kari's Crest, he can still continue his hunt and just directly KILL HER.

Kari could only look out in the starry night skies, waiting for her Digimon to come back to her.
She knew nothing about the new struggles that have befallen Gatomon since they last met earlier that night... nor of the impending danger that she herself was in right now...
