Today's video is a showcase of the knives that I completed this week.
Knife 1 is a hand forged utility knife that I made for my 9 year old granddaughter for our upcoming camping/fishing trip to Sedona. It is made of of 3/16th inch 5160 steel. The handles were made from a very old piece of Desert Ironwood that I found on our camping trip at Peralta Trail a few weeks ago and ¼ ich brass handle pins and an orange G10 spacer. The knife measures 8 ½ inch in total length. The blade is 4 inches long. The handle is 4 ½ inches.
Knife 2 is an amazing hand forged utility knife that was several weeks in the planning. This knife is made of 3/16th inch thick 5160 steel. The handle scales are made from stabilized,very highly figured Box Elder Burl and 3,100+ year old Ukrainian Bog Oak. It has brass spacers and brass handle pins a brass and black resin center pin with black G10 spacer. This knife measures 8 ¾ inches in overall length. The blade is 4 inches. The handle is 4 ¾ inches. This knife would be an amazing daily use knife or great to stick in a safe as an heirloom knife for kids or grandchildren. I am calling this knife the Heirloom 1, as I have several different handle material designs in mind.
