(226) Forging a Hunting/Camping knife - Part I
Today is Part 1 of my first (not file corrupt) knife forging video. I will be forging a hunting/camping knife.
This knife is forged from 1/4 inch 5160 steel. It is a full tang construction. It is 10.5 inches in total length. The blade is 5 inches, the handle 5.5 inches. The handle material is going to be Bog Oak with Stainless Steel pins.
My apologizes for how the anvil shifts around. I need to build a heavier stand to help keep it in place.
I am currently working on the sheath, which is being made from 8 oz leather.
The CM Knifeworks Logo is my rough draft. Hopefully I will be able to make it better soon.
