This video takes another look at the English Auxiliary system and takes an alternative approach to the representation of T, Aspect and Voice in the language. Rather than using affix-hopping, Carnie shows how you can use theta grids to get the same effect. He introduced the [+V] and [Form] features which can replace the operation of affix-lowering/hopping and the stipulative need for morphological readjustment rules. As an added benefit, this model correctly puts the auxiliaries in the right order.
