How to Use the Show Values As Menus in a Pivot Table
I created this Excel Tutorial to assist one of my viewers. He wants to create a Fiscal Year-over-Fiscal Year Report. He wrote to me in frustration - because he was trying to create this report using a Calculated Field.
This is the wrong approach to take in this case - as I demonstrate here!
I demonstrate how to use the "Show Values As" Menu to create both the % Difference from Previous Fiscal Year and the Difference from Previous Fiscal Year Reports.
After all of the years that I have spent training clients to use Pivot Tables, I continue to be amazed that very few people have ever clicked on the "Show Values As" tab in the Value Field Settings Dialog Box.
