2002 LeSabre - Recent Project of Replacing Gaskets - Summary
Good afternoon, I finally had the time to replace my '02 LeSabre's upper intake plenum & gasket, lower intake manifold gaskets (used Felpro metal ones, again as I used the same ones on our Park Avenue), both valve cover gaskets, EGR chimney, thermostat, PCV valve, and a couple of weeks ago, the coolant elbows, I replaced.
This video is the 'first start" after all the work is was done. You can watch the oil burning off the front exhaust manifold from the previous leak.
Why did I do this work? I was observing a small amount of coolant pooling in the leftmost valley of the lower intake manifold for about a year. Then more recently a very bad leak due to a failing plastic coolant elbow. And a bad valve cover gasket leak in the front of the engine. In this vid, sharp viewers will see that I forgot to plug in the alternator's connector. I disconnected the battery again and plugged in the alternator's connector, then reconnected the battery ground. Battery light out - success. I did make vids of when I did our '00 Park Avenue's gaskets, but I didn't do the valve cover gaskets on that car.
