This project was an exercise in interactive electronic performance. This work is a little different than the original which was cut up into sections and then processed using software called Max MSP. The goal of the project was to create a program that could have musical or otherwise acoustic samples triggered using only sound input from the performer (me). I used a plastic 5 gallon bucket and played it upside down with a pair of drum sticks. I configured Max MSP to play certain layers or parts within the song when I played a specific rhythm. What you're listening to here is the complete backing track as it is meant to sound when fully assembled, without the bucket. Thus there are some areas that are somewhat thin. But as a straightforward musical track, it isn't bad either. Made using FL Studio 8 and MaxMSP. Copyright Ross Smith 2008.
