Hogwarts Legacy just received a hefty discount on Steam and with it we've seen a massive influx of new players. The game is technically Verified on the Steam Deck, but the performance isn't the best.
So today, I want to highlight a popular mod that includes an FPS hotfix to reduce gameplay stuttering while also providing a 10% boost in performance.
This mod will also fine-tune the graphic settings for you, so you don't have to go through and tinker with any of the options in the menu.
Although, I still recommend you go through and make adjustments as you see fit.

Ascendio Portable Mod
If you have haven't played the game on the Steam Deck yet, then you'll want to launch the game so that it can generate the config files.
If you have already been playing it, though, you can go ahead and reboot the Steam Deck into Desktop Mode.
Then, you're going to want to download the Ascendio Portable mod directly from the website Nexus Mods.
I'll be sure to include the link in the video description below, as well as the pinned comment so that everyone is able to find it easily.
As of right now, this mod is up to version 1.0.3, but the developer does say that additional features will be included in future updates.
You can choose to download this directly on the Steam Deck through a web browser.
Or you can download it on your PC or a smartphone, and then transfer it over.
This mod is zipped up, though, so once you have it on the Steam Deck, you'll want to right click it and then extract its contents.
Then we can open up the folder here, and look for this installer file.
Double click on it and then confirm that you want to execute it.
Now you're going to let the installer script do its job while we wait patiently.
Once it has finished, let's reboot back into Steam OS and test out the game.
Customize the Settings
If you want, you can launch the game and begin playing it without adjusting any of the graphical settings.
However, you may be able to squeeze out a few more FPS by changing some of them.
For example, not everyone cares about seeing shadows so you could drop this down a bit so the GPU spends less time rendering them.
You shouldn't need to change much, since the Ascendia Portable Mod sets up the game so well for us.
