Robin and I met during our freshman year of high school in San Jose. I was a quiet nerd and Robin was vivacious, beautiful, and almost NEVER quiet. She attracted friends like bees to flowers. EVERYBODY knew Robin. And everybody loved her. I’m really not exaggerating when I say that when she walked the halls of campus it was like the ice cream man driving through the neighborhood. She couldn’t go ten feet without someone calling out to her to stop.
I think it was her sense of humor and infectious laughter that drew others to her. I absolutely loved to hear her laugh – and Robin was always laughing.
Robin is gone much too soon. But just look around and see how many hearts and lives she touched while she lived. She gave herself to all of us in one way or another – at one time or another. Her mark on our lives is indelible. Her memory is unforgettable.
I am devastated at the loss of my lifelong friend. I ache from the regret of not holding onto her more tightly. I should have been there for her more.
I thank God that we have the hope of heaven. I don’t think we could bear the weight of our grief if we believed death was truly the end. But it isn’t the end. So, I won’t say goodbye. only goodbye for now.
I love you, Robin.
