Step inside a tunnel boring machine as it digs its way underground from Annacis Island to the middle of the Fraser River. It's part of a multi-year project to build a new outfall pipe one-kilometre long from the Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant to the river.

The new pipe is expected to meet the regional growth needs for the next 100 years while ensuring greater seismic resilience and continuous, reliable and safe management of liquid waste.
