'Israel-Gaza Conflict: 41 Journalists Killed Since Start of War'.
Human rights watchdogs have described the past month of the Israel-Gaza war as the deadliest for journalists since records began.
At least 41 journalists have been killed since the start of the war, according to Reporters Without Borders.
The figure includes 36 Palestinians, four Israelis and one Lebanese journalist.
However, last month Israel told international news organisations that it could not guarantee the safety of journalists operating in the Gaza Strip.
They claim “Hamas has put its military operations in proximity to civilians and journalists.”
But Palestinian journalists say that they and their families are being deliberately targeted.
On Sunday night, Palestinian reporter Mohammad Abu Hasira was killed alongside 42 of his family members, after his home was “targeted” in Gaza City.
Last week, Mohammed Abu Hatab, a correspondent for Palestine TV news channel was killed in southern Gaza in an Israeli airstrike, alongside 11 members of his family.
Abu Hatab’s colleague broke down on air after learning of his death, stating journalist’s protective gear serve no purpose.
“We can’t take it anymore, we are exhausted, we are victims... there is no protection, no international protection at all, no sanctuary”.
He begins to remove his protective kit, saying: “We are victims here, victims live on air... we wait to die, one by one”.
